The leading international Russian radio The Voice of Russia, which broadcasts to 160 countries in 38 languages for a total of 151 hours per day, made a program about Russian’s charity and volunteer organizations. Most of the program was devoted to the activity of non-commercial organization VOLONTER.RU.
The journalist of international radio mentioned that although charitable organizations are not that popular in Russia, as in Europe, charity activities have already started. According to the research of the independent pollster Levada Center, the majority of Russians don’t give money, blood or time. There is no the culture of charity, people often don’t realize they can donate not only money but also their time or professional services, they don’t know of the wide range of charitable causes. VOLONTER.RU is a navigator in the Russian charity world. It is the project to popularize volunteering in Russia by providing an easy-to-use online service. It helps people to find their own way to help others. There are four sections available: direct assistance, organized assistance, professional assistance and corporate assistance.
The collaborative project of VOLONTER.RU and Smart Internet Foundation SNAMI.DETI was presented to the radio audience as well. The importance of the internet knowledge and our educational programs were highly rated by the Voice of Russia.
