Russian Internet Week — is a multi-stream three-day conference comprised of exhibitions, extracurricular activities, presentations and promotion activities by leading IT companies. There were discussed the most relevant issues of the modern Internet: children’s safety, future of Internet media, personnel market, new gTLD program of ICANN, etc.
Smart Internet Foundation with an association of non-commercial organization VOLONTER.RU introduced to members and guests of the exhibition a common project “SNAMI.DETI” (Children are with us). Its key issue is an educational program “Understand the Internet” – the series of lessons for the children, which explain how the web-space is organized and is it secure.
For both, members and guests of an exhibition, a stand of the “SNAMI.DETI” project became not only information center on the educational work with children, but also a recruiting point for the new volunteers. There were about 20 charity organizations from the community VOLONTER.RU, who could present their activity and that’s why up to 5 consultants worked every day.
The round table “Charity and IT” gathered more than 30 participants – representatives of the country’s leading volunteer organizations, IT-community and business. There has been discussed a topic of corporate volunteering and possible ways to integrate the experience of voluntary organizations into the IT-environment. It became a first meeting of an IT and charitable non-commercial communities. The round table was chaired by Ilya Peresedov, executive director of the “Smart Internet Foundation”.
Within the presentation of the “SNAMI.DETI” project, members and guests of the conference were given an opportunity to be filmed in a video and share their views on those goods which can be given by an Internet. It will be cut and presented on the “Smart Internet Foundation” website soon.
