The webinar “Digital Literacy – Through the Game”, which was attended by 479 teachers of computer science and physics, methodologists, teachers of additional education and librarians from different regions of Russia – Irkutsk, Khanty-Mansiysk, Saratov, Barnaul and others, was held On September 29. The organizers of the webinar are the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ with the support of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives.
The webinar was moderated by Tatyana Novikova, a representative of the Smart Internet Foundation, whose flagship project is the . ДЕТИ domain, specially created for children’s and teenage websites.
The webinar participants shared their experience in using interactive game forms of learning to improve the level of digital literacy of children and the ICT competencies of teachers, and also offered practical tools that will help teachers of basic and additional education expand the possibilities of the educational process, understand the possibilities of their development in the field of digital literacy and engage students in the world of information technology.
Olga Yakovleva, Head of Social Projects at the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, made a presentation of the interactive educational project “Study the Internet – Govern It!”, teaching safe online behavior and early career guidance for children and adolescents. Participants of the project “Study the Internet – Govern It!” are about 170,000 people all over the country.
“In the era of digital transformation, teachers and educators of additional education face a difficult task: in order to develop digital literacy skills, they will have to master a whole range of digital practices and strategies, include them in their arsenal and apply the most appropriate in a given situation in the educational process. We hope that the practical tools provided by the “Study the Internet – Govern It!” project will expand the opportunities for teachers both in developing the digital literacy of children and adolescents, and in developing the ICT competencies of teachers themselves. And we are grateful to our partners of the Academy of Innovative Education and Development, the Department of Digital Education and Information Security (TsOIB) of the L.I. Novikova, ANO “Digital Region” is that together with us they are doing everything possible to develop digital literacy,” said Olga Yakovleva.
Roskomnadzor expert, rector of the Academy of Innovative Education and Development Olga Rubtsova spoke about the Safe Information Environment for Childhood project, which won the Runet Prize 2020 in the Formation of Digital Immunity nomination. She noted that for the full development of a child who is able to successfully develop himself in the modern world, the formation of an ideal information environment is not only unnecessary, but also dangerous – it is much more important to teach a child information security skills, adequate perception and evaluation of information and its critical reflection.
Representatives of the Vladimir Institute for the Development of Education named after L.I. Novikova Denis Mishin and Alyona Kondratyeva shared the experience of the additional education system of the Vladimir region in using the resources of игра-интернет.рф to develop the digital competencies of teachers, as well as a tool for working with children.
Kirill Polyakov, Head of the Projects Implementation Department at ANO Digital Region, spoke about the ecosystem for the development of children’s digital literacy and the Дети.digital project, a platform for supporting talented children. “Digital technologies provide additional opportunities for the teacher to build the educational process in a diverse and interesting way for the child, to choose a methodology that takes into account his individual needs. We hope that the tools that the participants of the webinar talked about will be useful for teachers and will become assistants in their activities,” said Tatyana Novikova at the end of the webinar.
