Born on Dec 21st 1952 in Vladivostok. Graduated from Journalistic Faculty of Far East State University in 1975. Later was occupied in “Krasnoe Znamya” newspaper (Vladivostok) and consequently worked in “Sovetskaya Rossia” newspaper as staff reporter in Khabarosk.

In 1991 began collaboration with Moscow editorial office of “Komsomolskaya Pravda” newspaper. Made his career from the position of department supervisor to editor in chief, managed the Friday issue of «Komsomolskaya Pravda».

Starting from year 2005 – editor in Chief of “Izvestia” newspaper. From 2009 – occupies the position of President of editorial office “Izvestia” newspaper. In Sep 2011 – transferred to a position of Director General Councellor of “National Media Group”, resulting in dual jobholding with the position of “Izvestiya” newspaper editorial board president.
