The guests of the new webinar were “young leaders of the digital space”

On March 4, the 18th webinar of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ was held at the VK community’s Safe Childhood Information Environment. Its guests were young leaders of the digital space or “Cybers”, represented by the federal coordinator of this media movement, Alesya Degtyareva.

All webinars in the series are held with the information support of the Smart Internet Foundation.

According to the guest, today “Cyber” is a subculture that unites young Russian bloggers, journalists, and media enthusiasts. Participants in the movement have the opportunity to study at an online school with relevant courses, including on digital literacy and culture, create their own media content, participate in major federal events, and communicate with opinion leaders and industry experts. Special attention is paid to the development of so–called media skills – the ability to create content, recognize fakes, and work with modern digital tools, including AI assistants.

“The Russian Cyber movement appeared in response to a request from children themselves to create a safe space for development in the media sphere. Today we bring together more than a thousand young activists in 50 regions of the Russia,” said Alesya Degtyareva. – “For schoolchildren, this is a unique opportunity not only to develop professional skills, but also to become part of a large community where complex topics are explained in simple language, and media literacy goes hand in hand with creativity. Our participants create content that is watched by their peers, parents, and a wide audience, which means they have a real impact on the information space.”
