At the opening of the Safer Internet Week in Kaliningrad were discussed why a modern teacher needs digital literacy.

On September 11, there was held the 15th webinar of the Coordination center for TLD RU/РФ on the VK-community Safe childhood information Environment with the information support of the Smart Internet Foundation.

The meeting opened the first Safer Internet Week in Kaliningrad, which will last until September 18th and will bring together many educational events in schools and gymnasiums: lessons, workshops, lectures and practical exercises.

Among the invited speakers are representatives of Sberbank, VKontakte, R-Style SoftLab (a Russian software developer), the Russian Digital Academy, the publishing house Russkoye Slovo, and other companies.

The topic of the webinar was “Digital mentor: AI or advanced teacher?”. The following issues were discussed with the invited experts:

• Mentoring in a digital environment: an additional skill or a necessity?
• Professional development projects: Mentor School Study the Internet and Code Secrets. Why do you need to “sit at the desk” again?
• Together with generation Z and Alpha: why it’s cool to involve children and young people in creating positive content?
