As part of the interactive lesson, the students learned the rules of safe online behavior.

On August 14, the Academy of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ together with “Study the internet – Govern It” project and our Foundation held a Lesson on safe Internet as part of the “Art Holidays”. A summer educational campaign filled with creative activities is held annually within the walls of the Russian State Children’s Library. The participants were children aged 6-12.

The digital literacy training was also held in a creative format – the lesson was based on the comic book “Brain Error: how I almost leaked everything”, the main character of which, teenager Andrey, and his robot assistant Ruby encounter dangerous situations in the cyber environment and together deftly, though not without minor losses, cope with them.

The guys discussed the situations that comics teaches them to deal with (in particular, with different types of phishing), figured out the concepts of “social engineering” and “critical thinking”, practiced to separate fakes from real news, reliable emails from “malicious” ones, and also looked for tricks in calls from strangers.

At the end of the Lesson, the children agreed that despite all the dangers, the Internet is a great helper, which, if you “study the instructions for it,” opens up prospects for self–development, education, communication, and leisure.

In addition to comics, the children also received useful souvenirs from the “Study the internet – Govern IT” project, and the youngest participants received a set of pencils and coloring pages with a domain .ДЕТИ («children» in English) mascot from the Smart Internet Foundation.
