Advisory council of the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russian Federation created the section for the volunteering problems resolution. (Decree of April 4, 2013 number 10)

The practice of nonprofit organizations’ work shows that the need for volunteers’ help often arises in situations when human rights are limited or not respected, i.e. demand protection. We consider as a great luck for volunteer community that the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russian Federation is ready to use his power to support and help volunteers in Russia.

The Working Group will coordinate the following directions:

• monitoring of the situation with observance of human rights within implementation of volunteer activity;
• inform the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russian Federation about the cases of violation of the rights of volunteers and their subordinates;
• analyze legal initiatives affecting the rights and interests of volunteers for compliance with basic human rights and freedoms;
• develop Advisory council of the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russian Federation as an independent platform for public discussion of issues and concerns of volunteer activity in Russia.

Currently, the group consists of well-known experts and practitioners of volunteer activities:
