Cyrillic top-level domain « .ДЕТИ » successfully passed the initial assessment phase of ICANN. This means that the platform for young Russian-speaking Internet audience will be available soon in the global network. Smart Internet Foundation applied for the domain.

The new Cyrillic domain will become an independent Internet web-space adapted for children’s interests and specifics of teenage perception. Domain « .ДЕТИ » is a social project that does not imply making a profit. Its purpose is to make the Internet more friendly, safe and interesting for the young audience of the global network.

If there are no other applicants on the top-level domain, no remarks and warnings, the signing of the contract with ICANN will be the next step for registry of the new domain. In this particular case Smart Internet Foundation was the only applicant for the domain « .ДЕТИ ».
