Andrew Wyckoff, Director of Science, Technology and Industry Directorate of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) recently visited The MSU Faculty of Global Studies. OECD is one of the most competent and powerful economic organizations in the world. It unites more than 30 developed countries that produce two-thirds of all world’s goods and services.
Mr. Wyckoff came to Moscow to take part in the work of the Russian Internet Government Forum RIGF and he also responded the invitation of “Smart Internet” and Dean of the Faculty of the Global Studies Professor Ilya V. Ilin to deliver a lecture for students.
In his speech devoted to “Analysis of the globalization of science, technology and innovation” Mr. Wyckoff noted the milestones of 50-years OECD’s history, outlined the topography of innovations and appreciated Russian economic potential in the global economic processes. Director of STI told that Russia has technological advantages and named Russia as one of the innovative Powers of nowadays, especially in IT industry.
About hundred students of the Faculty of Global Studies MSU attended Mr. Wyckoff’s lecture. Lively discussion in impeccable English after the lecture was mainly devoted to Russia’s integration into OECD. Mr. Wyckoff expressed his confidence that Russian’s entry into OECD is a question of time.
Andrew Kolesnikov, member of Management of Smart Internet Foundation, and Ivan Aleshlovski, Deputy Dean of the Faculty, accompanied Mr. Wyckoff at the University.
